2024 - SATB a cappella c.5'

Words by Fergus Hall and the Hepton Singers

I am currently working to build an online shop for pdf scores.

In the meantime, to access the full score for perusal or purchase please contact me via the contact page

This piece was originally written in 2021 for the Hepton Singers and their musical director Richard Bunzl as part of the Making Music UK and Sound & Music Adopt a Music Creator Scheme. This piece was then reworked into a new version in 2024.

When I sit down it is very quiet,
Sounds make pools of colour,
A short walk in the wind and rain,
a peaceful place full of sound.

I can see the grasses moving,
I imagine that I can hear
the grasses swooshing in the breeze.

I stop to listen to the babble of the stream,
waiting for the wind,

Singing, swaying, shimmering, whispering,
the trees across the field are catching the wind,
When it stops, all is quiet.
Still, still night, down the gravel path then home.
